About the Role
As a Solutions Architect at Dandelion Labs, you were the technical visionary who shaped how our clients' products were built. You didn't just draw diagrams — you made decisions that would impact these startups for years. You worked directly with founders to understand their business goals, then designed architectures that could deliver on those goals while remaining flexible enough to pivot when needed. Your work set the foundation that engineering teams built upon, so clarity, foresight, and pragmatism were essential.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery sessions with clients to understand business requirements and constraints
- Design end-to-end system architectures including frontend, backend, data, and infrastructure layers
- Create technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and documentation
- Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and third-party services
- Define integration patterns for microservices, APIs, and external systems
- Establish security, scalability, and reliability requirements and solutions
- Guide engineering teams through implementation, ensuring architectural integrity
- Conduct architecture reviews and provide recommendations for existing systems
- Present technical proposals and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 3 years in architecture roles
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native architectures
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure-as-code
- Proven track record of designing systems that scaled from MVP to production at scale
- Excellent understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements
- Experience with multiple programming languages and paradigms
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to balance technical excellence with business pragmatism
Nice to Have
- Experience with startup environments and rapid iteration
- Cloud architecture certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Architect)
- Background in specific domains: fintech, healthtech, or e-commerce
- Experience with event-driven architectures and streaming systems
- Track record of mentoring engineers and building technical culture
