About the Role
As a Data Engineer at Dandelion Labs, you built the foundation that let startups become data-driven companies. Responsibilities
- Design and build data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage
- Develop and maintain data warehouse and data lake architectures
- Create ETL/ELT processes that are reliable, scalable, and maintainable
- Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting
- Optimize database performance and query efficiency
- Build data APIs and services for downstream consumers
- Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to understand data requirements
- Document data models, pipelines, and best practices
- Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulations
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles
- Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python preferred)
- Experience with data warehousing solutions (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
- Hands-on experience with ETL/orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt, Dagster)
- Knowledge of streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, or similar)
- Experience with cloud platforms and their data services
- Understanding of data modeling and dimensional design
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to data quality
Nice to Have
- Experience with real-time data processing and analytics
- Background in building data infrastructure for startups
- Familiarity with ML pipelines and feature stores
- Experience with data governance and cataloging tools
- Contributions to data engineering open-source projects
